West Ham United sent their head of recruitment, Rob Newman, to scout Alex Scott against Manchester City this Tuesday. But the Bristol City talent is also a transfer target of Everton.
That is according to the Daily Mail, which reports Newman watched Scott while Bristol City lost in the FA Cup. West Ham are firmly in the chase for the midfielder’s transfer at the end of the term. But the Robins would want £25m with the 19-year-old under contract to 2025.
Bristol City’s valuation of the Guernsey native has proven too high for Wolves as Molineux chiefs are now backing away. Yet AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also scouting the teenager getting comparisons to David Beckham.

Newcastle United, too, have scouted Scott this season with his performances also drawing comparisons to Jack Grealish. Bristol City fear the levels of interest in his transfer will now result in multiple offers this summer. But they have offered the midfielder a new contract.
Boss Nigel Pearson admires what the central technician has shown and hopes to keep him at Ashton Gate. But the England youth prospect is yet to commit to new terms after three years at the club. He has now made 81 senior appearances for five goals and seven assists.

Scott has piqued West Ham’s interest in a transfer after offering five of his assists over 32 of Bristol City’s Championship games this season. The Irons admire what he could offer in east London highly, thus sent Newman to Ashton Gate to observe him against Manchester City.
Pearson started the teenager as his attack-minded midfielder against the reigning Premier League champions. But Scott would not stop Pep Guardiola’s team from winning 3-0 in the fifth-round. The tie was his 36th start of the season over 39 games across all competitions.
