The Athletic claim on their deadline-day blog (31/01, 8.53PM) that West Ham United are set to sanction a £500k permanent exit for Manny Longelo to Birmingham City – with the young ace currently on loan at the Midlands club.
Longelo, 22, joined Birmingham City on loan last summer. He has since clocked up 16 games in all competitions for the Blues, having a hand in three goals – playing either at left-back, or out wide. He has impressed with the Blues.
The versatile ace is contracted to Birmingham until the end of the season. But, the Championship club are now set to sign the West Ham man permanently. The report claims a deal will be done for a fee of £500k, plus add-ons.
The report also states that a deal is ‘close to being finalised’ and Longelo will sign a long-term contract with the Blues. A good signing for Birmingham, to sign an exciting talent for a decent fee in the final hours of deadline day.

West Ham to sanction £500k exit for Manny Langelo to Birmingham City
Langelo is the fourth West Ham youngster to leave on a permanent basis. It comes after Harrison Ashby completed a £3million move to Newcastle United, Pierre Ekwah to Sunderland and Will Greenidge has joined Colchester United.
It is a good move for Langelo. With his future sorted out, he can now focus on playing for Birmingham without the thought of playing for his future. For West Ham, they get a fee for a player that had little chance of a breakthrough.
It is unclear how long Longelo’s contract will be at Birmingham, but there is a confidence that a deal will be done before the deadline at 11pm. Longelo leaves behing the club that he has spent so many years with, in the academy.
