West Ham United are back in the hunt for Montpellier forward Gaetan Laborde as they pursue attacking reinforcements before the transfer deadline.

That’s according to Le10 Sport, who claim that Laborde is back on West Ham’s wish list ahead of the transfer window closing.

West Ham have made contact with Clermont Foot for their striker Mohamed Bayo, but they could yet chase other deals in France.

Laborde has been on West Ham’s radar for a while now, and it’s no great surprise that David Moyes and co are back in the hunt for him.

The 27-year-old scored 18 goals in all competitions last season as well as adding nine assists, operating in from the right flank or up front.

Laborde has started this term in fine form with two goals in three games, and that could earn him a Premier League move.

Despite standing at 5ft 11in tall, Laborde has been hailed as one of the best players in the air over in France, possessing an outstanding leap.

His versatility must be hugely appealing to West Ham.

The Hammers already have a clear first-choice striker in Michail Antonio, but he needs support.

A player like Laborde, who can also play on the right flank, would give Moyes flexibility and enable him to play both Laborde and Antonio if he so wishes.

West Ham won’t want to pay big money for a player who turns 28 next summer, but Laborde does seem to fit the bill for Moyes and co.
