AC Milan are interested in signing Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United, according to CMW.

AC Milan want to sign West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca

The Italian news outlet has claimed that AC Milan are looking at West Ham striker Scamacca as a possible replacement for Rafael Leao.

If the Portugal international forward does not sign a new contract, then the defending Serie A champions could sell him and move to bring in 24-year-old Italy international striker Scamacca from Premier League club West Ham.

Juventus and Inter Milan are also claimed to be keen on Scamacca.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, West Ham United are not going to sell Gianluca Scamacca in the middle of the season, but AC Milan could be able to secure the services of the Italy international striker in the summer of 2023.

The Hammers are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and there is no way that the London club could sell any of their main players in the January transfer window.

Now, Scamacca has not done particularly well for the Hammers since his move to the London club from Sassuolo in the summer of 2022.

So, if Milan do make a good offer for the £71,000 per week (SalarySport) striker in the summer of 2023, the Hammers could be wiling to cash in on him.

The 24-year-old striker has made 11 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers so far this season, scoring three goals in the process.

The Italian has also scored two goals in five UEFA Europa Conference League for the Hammers so far this campaign.
