Palmeiras midfielder Danilo has now spoken with Gustavo Scarpa to discuss his transfer to Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian will snub interest from West Ham United to join the Reds.
That is according to 90min, which reports Nottingham Forest are eager to wrap up Danilo’s transfer from Palmeiras. The two teams are close to finalising the terms of his move to the City Ground. Steve Cooper has made no secret of his wish to sign yet further new players.
Nottingham Forest have already raided Palmeiras once in recent weeks after sealing a free transfer for Scarpa. The attacking midfielder left the Allianz Parque for the Premier League strugglers at the end of his contract on January 1. He agreed a deal with the Reds to 2026.

Now, Danilo could follow Scarpa to Nottingham Forest with Cooper interested in a transfer for Palmeiras’ defensive midfielder. The City Ground outfit have also submitted an offer in excess of £16m to get the 21-year-old. He is ready to move to England during January, too.
Danilo is open to the switch to the Midlands from Sao Paulo after speaking with Scarpa on the transfer. They have discussed the former joining Nottingham Forest following Cooper’s move to sign the latter this year. The pair are friends from their time at the Allianz Parque.

Danilo is to reject a transfer to West Ham to join Nottingham Forest from Palmeiras
Nottingham Forest are leading the race to seal Danilo’s transfer from Palmeiras after their bid worth just over £16m. The Brazilian will snub a raft of Premier League clubs to move to the City Ground, too. Cooper’s side are 15th in the table and two points off the drop zone.
Reports by Calciomercato.it claim eight further English top-flight clubs are keen to sign the Palmeiras prospect. It lists AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Wolves and West Ham as options for Danilo to now join.
He has further suitors across Europe, too, with AS Monaco and Marseille offering moves to Ligue 1. While Benfica have shown an interest in taking Danilo to Portugal and Paris Saint-Germain studied taking him to France before sacking sporting director Leonardo last year.
Additionally, the Italian publication notes Palmeiras would want €20m (£17.5m) plus add-ons to sell Danilo. The Brazilian outfit had initially sought a €30m (£26.5m) deal for a gem Tim Vickery claims is ‘dynamic’ and ‘the most effective player in South American football’.
