West Ham are still lacking in fire power despite signing Javier Hernandez last summer.

West Ham United are interested in signing Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu, according to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, but face competition from Premier League side West Brom.
The 26-year-old striker has been in excellent form for the La Liga side this season, scoring an impressive nine goals in just 14 league and cup outings including a hat-trick against Eibar.
The French-born DR Congo international is known for his explosive pace and power, as well as offering ability in the air. Despite all that, he has proven to be calm and collected once inside the penalty area, too.

The Telegraph claimed back in June this year that the Hammers had had a bid of £22million rejected for Bakambu, as well as Anthony Modeste, but it seems the east Londoners have retained their interest in Bakambu.
Slaven Bilic, now sacked by the Hammers hierarchy on Monday, did sign Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen but the Mexican forward is yet to show any consistency with just four goals all season.

Now, with the club in the bottom three of the Premier League, investment is expected to occur in January in order to keep the Hammers afloat come May 2018.
Bakambu could be the man that West Ham look to fire them to safety with Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Hernandez struggling, but it remains to be seen if Villarreal will sell as he has five years remaining on his contract.
