The Hull City defender has been linked with a move to West Ham United.
According to the Telegraph, West Ham United is a potential destination for Hull City player Ahmed Elmohamady this month.
The 29-year-old right-back has played 203 matches for the Tigers, including 23 this season, and the struggling side will be desperate to keep the Egypt international at least for the rest of the campaign.
That said, West Ham are in desperate need of a new right-sided defender of their own and they are being tipped to make a move for the experienced, and versatile, player.
There is one big stumbling block that will make or break any potential deal, and that is the Africa Cup of Nations, for which Elmohamady will be starring for his country.
If the wide man returns to Hull in January, which would mean Egypt are eliminated prior to the semi-final stage, there is a chance, however slim, that he could move on. But if he helps his country into the last-four or beyond, this is one rumour that will remain just that.
West Ham will be searching for sensible additions in the coming weeks and Elmohamady is certainly that, meaning the link makes sense. But the AFCON could affect targets as well as some of the Hammers’ current stars.
