West Ham United have been linked with a move for Gabriel Barbosa.
Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa has told Globo Esporte that his situation is ‘very complicated’ amid rumours of a move to West Ham United.
Barbosa, 22, was billed as the next big thing during his first spell with Santos, earning the nickname ‘Gabigol’ after 56 goals in 154 games for the Brazilian side.
His form in Brazil handed him a big move to Inter Milan in 2016, but his time at the San Siro has been miserable, playing just 10 times and scoring only one goal.
Even a loan move to Benfica was cut short after just one goal in five games, before being sent back to Santos on loan, where he has got his magic touch back with 25 goals in 48 games.
Barbosa is set to return to Inter though, and it’s unclear what the future holds for the young Brazilian, who has struggled to impress in Europe so far.
Goal reported last week that West Ham United are keen on Barbosa, with Crystal Palace and Everton also investigating a potential move with agent Kia Joorabchian.
Barbosa – an exciting forward who just needs to find a home – allegedly dreams of a Premier League move, and he has spoken about his future with Globo Esporte.
The forward suggested that his future is ‘very complicated’ as it ultimately rests with Inter Milan, but did suggest that he will be on the move as he is preparing to play his final games for Santos.
“Very complicated, I’ll be honest,” said Barbosa. “I’m going to enjoy these last games, because they might be the last,” he added.
