Marouane Fellaini worked with West Ham United manager David Moyes at Everton and Manchester United, and it does not come as a surprise that he has been linked with a move to the Hammers.

According to a report in The Daily Mail last week, West Ham are interested in signing Fellaini from Premier League rivals United in the summer of 2018.

The 30-year-old midfielder’s current contract with the Red Devils runs out at the end of the season, and he will then be a free agent.

The Sun has now reported that the Belgium international has told United manager Jose Mourinho that he wants to leave Old Trafford in the summer of 2018.

It has been reported that Fellaini has turned down a new contract at the English and European giants.

The former Standard Liege star has been on the books of United since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Everton for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £27.5 million.

While West Ham are not going to be able to sign Fellaini in the January transfer window, the latest (reported) development on the future of the Belgian suggests that the London club could get him in the summer of 2018.
