West Ham target Leander Dendoncker’s recent form has been disappointing.
The transfer window can play havoc with a player’s form and availability, just ask Leicester and Riyad Mahrez.
Belgian side Anderlecht also appear to be suffering with regard to star midfielder Leander Dendocker, a transfer target for West Ham.
West Ham made a low bid for Dendoncker late in the transfer window which was rejected by Anderlecht.
Dendoncker is quoted by SkySports saying he felt West Ham would be an ideal club for him.
A big summer move awaits perhaps, but Dendoncker must earn it, and his form has been on the slide.
Anderlecht have been struggling for form recently and former Belgium international and Newcastle defender Philippe Albert believes Dendoncker is one of the players who must up his game.
Albert is quoted by VoetballNieuws Belgium: “After the match against Charleroi and the humiliation in Bruges, Vanhaezebrouck has still protected his players, but since it did not work to defend them, he now has come to a point where he publicly criticises them.
“It might be the only way to get Dendoncker, Kums and Spajic to understand that they are far below their level right now.
“It is in their own interest that they play better, because Vanhaezebrouck will not hesitate to take draconian measures.”
Dendoncker is only 22-years-old and it is natural he will have dips in form.
But if he wants to earn a big move this summer to the Premier League, with West Ham or elsewhere, he will need to get back to his best between now and May to warrant clubs to match Anderlecht’s valuation of him.
