Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Thilo Kehrer is now open to joining West Ham United over the final weeks of the market, as Irons boss David Moyes steps up his interest in a transfer.

According to the Express, West Ham United remain interested in signing Thilo Kehrer after Paris Saint-Germain rejected their opening offer. But David Moyes faces competition from La Liga side Sevilla in the race for a late deal to take the German from the Parc des Princes.

The Hammers are locked in discussions with Les Parisiens for the 25-year-old, with London Stadium chiefs determined to reach an agreement. But the Premier League side are so far unwilling to pay PSG’s £16m asking price, with a £10m bid sent to the French powerhouse.
Paris Saint-Germain snubbed West Ham’s opening bid, as they look to recoup more of the £33m they paid Schalke in 2018. The 20-cap Germany defender’s valuation has more than halved in the four years to follow as he is now in the final 12-months of his five-year deal.
Sevilla are, likewise, reluctant to satisfy a £16m price tag to strengthen Julen Lopetegui’s backline at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. So, West Ham can forget the competition with an improved offer, with Kehrer open to leaving Paris Saint-Germain for east London.

Kehrer would consider Moyes’ approach offering a chance to play in the Premier League in search of regular minutes. He is determined to feature frequently in the lead up to the Fifa World Cup in Qatar this November, having only held a bit-part role in the last Ligue 1 term.
Mauricio Pochettino only started Kehrer in 16 of his 27 French top-flight outings during the 2021/22 season. Christophe Galtier also left the defender – whom Thomas Tuchel hailed in his spell in charge of PSG – out of the Parisiens’ matchday squad to begin the ‘22/23 term.
“Thilo is a very committed player, very professional,” Tuchel told PSG TV in 2018. “I like his personality, he already has a certain maturity as he’s captain of Germany’s Under-21 side.
“He’s quick, able to play in any of the four positions at the back, is two-footed, and can even play as a defensive midfielder. He’s the sort of player any coach would like to have.”
