Inter Milan’s Joao Mario spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United in the Premier League.

This summer will represent the third anniversary of West Ham United’s controversial move to the London Stadium.
And while there is less fan protests these days on and off the field, not to mention fans stealing corner flags and raising them aloft in one of the most memorable on-pitch invasions in recent times, many fans are still longing for Upton Park.
The London Stadium is newer, shinier and more modern. But it is hard to shake the feelings that it remains a little soulless – something which has been a major problem for a club famed for its old-school, working class community roots.
So rather than hit out at last season’s loan star Joao Mario for his comments on the atmosphere in English football, it seems they agree.

“I’ve been in England and they’re all too quiet there. I prefer the warmth of our fans,” the Portuguese international said in quotes reported by TMW, adding that he is happier playing in front of Inter Milan’s famous San Siro.
Considering that West Ham were battling relegation for much of Mario’s time at the club, you can understand why the fans weren’t exactly singing merrily from the terraces.
