West Ham United’s Ashley Fletcher has a shot at goal
West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher says the club’s recent trip to Dubai has been a positive and he is excited for the second half of the campaign.
He has found it tough to break into the first team, but West Ham resisted temptation to send him out on loan.
Fletcher is very much considered a first team option, even if most of his opportunities will come from the substitutes bench.
West Ham had used the break caused by their FA Cup exit to have a warm weather training camp in Dubai, and bring the squad closer together.
The team have forged a strong bond in recent weeks after Dimitri Payet’s surprise exit in January, and have been climbing the table after a slow start to the season.
The closure of the transfer window brings stability to players on the fringes of the team like Fletcher, and enables them to focus fully on the task at hand without any distractions.
West Ham are in 10th place and travel to Watford next up before hosting league leaders Chelsea on Monday March 6.
