Tottenham Hotspur travel to East London to take on West Ham United on Friday night.
West Ham United’s Winston Reid
Hammers star Winston Reid sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and discussed his side’s upcoming clash with Spurs on Friday night, highlighting Harry Kane as a major threat for the visitors.
The 23-year-old England international has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season, scoring 27 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, and has been a major driving force behind their successful campaign thus far.
Reid though, believes he has the blueprint to keep Kane quiet when West Ham welcome the Lilywhites to the London Stadium on Friday night.
The New Zealand international told WHUFC.com:
Tottenham’s Harry Kane celebrates
“When we played them at White Hart Lane, he didn’t have a shot on target for 89 minutes, then out of nowhere he had scored a penalty and another goal from open play and they had won the game. That’s the type of player he is and that’s a positive for Spurs, because he doesn’t need a lot of chances to score his goals. He generally very rarely misses the target, so with players like that, you need to try to keep them with their back to goal for as much time as possible to make it difficult for them to score.”
Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be desperate for all three points against their London rivals, and will be looking to keep the pressure up on league leaders Chelsea at the top of the table.
And with Kane amongst their ranks, Spurs will be confident of producing the goods against West Ham.
They can reduce their deficit on the Blues to just one point with a win over the Hammers, and with Slaven Bilic’s side in dire need of the points themselves, Friday night’s game has all the ingredients for what should be a thrilling contest.
