West Ham United fans are expecting a lot from their team this season.

West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta spoke exclusively to the club’s official website from the Hammers’ pre-season summer training camp in Switzerland, and opened up on how physically demanding Manuel Pellegrini’s regime has been thus far.
The Chilean officially took over from David Moyes at the start of this month, and many are backing West Ham to mount a serious challenge for the European places with the 64-year-old now at the helm.
The Hammers have been heavily active during this summer transfer window already, bringing in Issa Diop and Ryan Fredericks, whilst being linked with a plethora of other big names.

It will be vital for Pellegrini to extract the best from the players already at the club too, though, if he is to guide them to a successful Premier League campaign.
Zabaleta, who joined the Hammers last summer on a free transfer, shared an insight into how hard the players are being pushed this summer, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“It was a hard week, which was good. We expected a hard week in terms of building our fitness levels, and working on this in three sessions a day at certain points. It looks really good. We’re working really hard and looking forward to improving every day.”
The very least that West Ham fans expect to see from their players is 100 per cent effort and commitment, and judging by Zabaleta’s words, Pellegrini is trying to get them in the best shape possible to achieve that in every single game.
