West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta did not feature in the club’s opening game.

West Ham were well beaten by Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season, losing 4-0 at Anfield.
Defender Pablo Zabaleta was an unused substitute and from the bench had a better view of his side’s demolition than most.
He responded bizarrely after the game to Match of the Day host Gary Lineker on Twitter, who had posted his views summarising the opening weekend.
Lineker praised Zabaleta’s former side Manchester City, as well as commenting on Liverpool’s impressive display against West Ham.
Zabaleta’s former side Manchester City kicked off their season with a 2-0 win over Arsenal at The Emirates.
They are the reigning champions and are tipped to go on and lift the Premier League trophy again, with Liverpool expected to run them close, after knocking them out of the Champions League last season.
Their performance against West Ham at the weekend where they scored four and could easily have had more underlined their credentials.
