Reports suggested West Ham playmaker Lanzini could be sidelined until September 2019.
West Ham United star Manuel Lanzini has rubbished reports suggesting that he could miss the entirety of the 2018-19 season, by posting an update on his Instagram page.
The Daily Mirror reported that the 25-year-old playmaker was set to miss the next 15 months of action – keeping him sidelined until September 2019 – after undergoing knee surgery.
The former River Plate attacker picked up the injury during a training session with Argentina just a week before the start of the World Cup, which saw Lanzini miss out on representing his country in Russia.

Lanzini took to Instagram to rubbish reports that he would be sidelined for the whole 2018-19 campaign and even potentially the start of 2019-20, by stating that he expects to return at the start of next year.
Lanzini remains a crucial part of West Ham’s squad and the news will come as a huge positive to fans, despite the Argentine’s struggles with injury last season. He was limited to just 29 appearances, but still managed five goals and nine assists.
Hammers fans will now be delighted to hear that the reports are indeed false, and that the playmaker will be hoping to return to action in January or indeed February.
