Both West Ham’s Perez and Tottenham’s Janssen have been linked with Spanish side Real Betis.

Vincent Janssen has been linked with moves to other Premier League sides and Spanish outfit Real Betis in the last few days, but West Ham’s Lucas Perez could hold the key to the Dutchman’s future.

The Daily Mail claim Betis have enquired over a move to sign 24-year-old Janssen, who has finally returned to action after a long-term foot injury he sustained on loan at Fenerbahce – albeit with Spurs’ Under-23 side.

He has featured four times this month for Spurs’ second string, scoring goals against West Ham United and Athletic Bilbao. But he has failed to make a senior appearance since last season.

The report says Spurs want £12million for Janssen, which would see chairman Daniel Levy accept a £5million loss on the Netherlands international after landing him for £17million (BBC Sport).

Real Betis are also keen on West Ham’s Perez this month, which was also reported by the Mail. The Spaniard is also struggling, managing only 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring five goals – but only two in the league.

Now, Perez could determine whether Janssen remains at Tottenham or moves to Betis, who seem likeliest to land the ex-AZ Alkmaar striker. That is because Perez reportedly has a decision to make.

The ex-Arsenal man is now the subject of a loan-to-buy bid from German side Schalke (BBC Sport), with the Bundesliga outfit surely a tantalising prospect given they remain in the Champions League and face Manchester City in the last 16.

So, Perez has a choice. He can join either Betis or Schalke, with West Ham seemingly willing to let him go. If he chooses Schalke, surely Janssen is likely to complete a move to Betis – but returning to Spain, could leave Janssen in the lurch.
