West Ham United are currently in the midst of an abysmal run of form.

Hammers centre-back James Collins spoke to the club’s official website about his side’s dreadful run of form, and highlighted how important their next two games will be to their hopes of Premier League survival.

The Welshman was part of the West Ham side who folded against Arsenal at the Emirates last night, and the really worrying thing for the club’s fans must be the total lack of fight and spirit currently on show amongst the players.

The East London outfit now face two crucial games that could prove to define their season.

Saturday’s home game against Swansea City is followed by a trip to Wearside to take on Sunderland the following weekend, and Collins told WHUFC.com how six points from those two matches will be priceless:

“The next two games are huge. Please God if we can get six points out of them, and perform, it will be massive and we’d probably go on to win a few more. It’s a case at the minute of getting that win, getting that clean sheet maybe and getting the confidence from that.”

If Bilic’s men fail to win either of those games, however, the writing could very well be on the wall as far as their Premier League status is concerned.

Then the pressure would really crank up on the under-fire Croatian, who has been the target of heavy criticism from fans and pundits alike over this past month, with his tactical nouse being questioned.

The Hammers board recently released a statement outlining their support of Bilic, but quite how sincere that was will surely be proven over the coming weeks.
