Jack Wilshere spoke on BBC’s 606 Savage Social podcast about the problems he faced at West Ham United last season.
The Englishman joined the Hammers on a free transfer from Arsenal but injury problems continued to haunt him.
Wilshere is undoubtedly one of England’s finest talents, but his terrible luck with injuries has consistently halted his progress.
The former Arsenal man claimed that he had no regrets joining the Hammers, yet said that misunderstandings with former boss Manuel Pellegrini played a part in his first season at the club.
He said: “It didn’t work out in the first year. I had a few differences with the manager [Manuel Pellegrini]. I thought I had finally put them aside but then I went through the same thing again.
“There was a lack of communication and he didn’t listen to what I was trying to say. I was quite low. I picked up a groin injury and had to manage my training load but the old manager was like ‘if you don’t do training, you don’t play’.”
Wilshere started the first four games of last season under Pellegrini but an ankle injury ruled him out for the next nine league fixtures.

He had a five-minute cameo against Newcastle United in a 3-0 win but surgery on the same ankle ruled him out for over four months.
Wilshere managed just eight appearances in the league last season and injuries have meant that he has been limited to just six this campaign.
He claimed on the podcast that he will be raring to go once the Premier League returns and, if he can stay fit, he will be a very useful player for the Hammers in the final few games of the season.
