The Arsenal defender has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur but he would be perfect for West Ham United.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Arsenal defender Calum Chambers this summer, but if the 22-year-old does leave the Emirates Stadium West Ham would be wise to make a move of their own.

Tottenham are not exactly lacking in defensive options right now, but the Hammers could do with a player of Chambers’ quality and versatility.

After all, not only does the former Southampton player operate in the centre of defence but he is also very handy at right-back; a position West Ham have been lacking in all season.

Chambers may have struggled for game time at Arsenal in recent seasons but that should take nothing away from his innate talent.

He arrived at Arsenal as one of the brightest prospects in the game and West Ham could be the club where he finally fulfils his potential.

Slaven Bilic’s side should also take advantage of the fact that they have a far better relationship with Arsenal than Tottenham when it comes to transfer dealings, as the recent loan moves for Carl Jenkinson proved.

Chambers himself would also be wise to pick West Ham over Tottenham, with regular minutes far more likely at the London Stadium.

The question is: Are West Ham are interested? But in truth, if they are not, they should be.
