West Ham have reportedly been told Manchester City’s Phil Foden is not available for a loan transfer next term.

West Ham United have had their hopes of landing Manchester City prodigy Phil Foden effectively ended this summer, as Pep Gaurdiola is not keen on loaning the U17 World Cup Player of the Tournament next term, according to the Telegraph.
However, Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini has plenty of other options to choose from, and fellow academy graduate Brahim Diaz would make a great addition to the squad at the London Stadium for next season.

Th 18-year-old has showed immense promise in brief glimpses with City last term, making five Premier League appearances for the champions which, like Foden, entitled him to a winners’ medal.
Diaz’s game focuses around his technical ability in possession, similarly to Foden, and he looks his best when gliding towards opposition defenders with the ball at feet; showing great offensive nous and understanding of when to release the ball for such a young player.
Although the Spaniard has reiterated his desire to stay with Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium long term, in quotes via Marca, both he and the Hammers could benefit hugely from a loan spell.

Pellegrini has explained his desire to get West Ham back to playing attacking and progressive football next term, and Diaz certainly fits that criteria.
It is also in City’s best interest to give the starlet as much top level experience as possible, if they are to eventually unearth their gem, while West Ham could receive an addition of genuine quality without having to shell out millions.
