West Ham should move for Bournemouth striker.

Tottenham Hotspur's Argentinian head coach Mauricio Pochettino (L) greets Sunderland's Scottish manager David Moyes ahead of the English Premier League football match between Tottenham...

Joshia King proved to be the Premier League‘s hidden gem last season hitting the best form of his career for the Cherries.

King netted 16 top flight goals for Eddie Howe’s side last season and has seven so far this term.

His form last season sparked interest from Mauricio Pochettino, as reported by the likes of the Independent – who claimed the Norwegian was ‘intrigued’ by the proposition of joining Spurs.

The North Londoners have struggled to recruit quality back-up for star man Harry Kane with Pochettino operating with one front man.

Bournemouth player Dan Gosling (l) and Joshua King celebrates King's second goal during the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United at Vitality Stadium on March...

The Telegraph has previously reported Bournemouth wanted £30 million which put Spurs and a number of other potential suitors off.

Tottenham could yet return for King in the summer as Pochettino looks for a young, hungry and athletic alternative to Kane who will accept being back-up.

The striker has often had to make do with a place on the bench under Howe this season with increased competition for places.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur speaks to the media during the press conference at Allianz Stadium on February 12, 2018 in Turin, Italy.

But West Ham should rival Spurs for King as they seek to revamp their ageing side and inject some much needed pace and versatility up front.

Both clubs would be attractive options for King but the Hammers could hold the ace card given King would go to North London knowing he would only play when Kane was injured or occasionally rested.

Uncertainty over who will be manager at West Ham next season won’t help but should that issue be resolved in the coming month and a half the East Londoners could do a lot worse than start their recruitment drive off with a bid for the 26-year-old former Manchester United prospect.

King can play up front or behind the striker as he has done off Jermain Defoe this season, and would give the Hammers more versatility in attack.
