West Ham United will need to change their approach to transfers this summer if they secure Premier League survival and should look to Southampton.

West Ham have failed miserably in the transfer market since the much heralded move to the London Stadium two years ago while Southampton are used to selling off their best players season after season.
Supporters are unhappy and co-owner David Sullivan recently pledged to rip up the Hammers’ recruitment process in a bid to turn things around.
One signing the club has got right has been Marko Arnautovic, although that didn’t look to be the case in his first three months at the club.
A dreadful start to his Hammers career so many questioning why West Ham blew a club record £25 million on the temperamental star.

But under David Moyes’ tutelage and no-nonsense approach Arnautovic has been transformed into West Ham’s talisman.
If the East Londoners secure Premier League survival, they should go big for Saints winger Sofiane Boufal in the hope Moyes can work his Arnautovic magic on the supremely talented Moroccan.
Boufal has blown hot and cold this season and seems to be cut from the same cloth as Arnautovic both in terms of talent and mentality.

Boufal showed both sides to his enigmatic talent back in October when he scored one of the goals of the season by taking on half the West Brom team before rather arrogantly and aggressively celebrating in the face of manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
Saints have a history of selling their players if the price is right and a big offer could see Moyes get his hands on a player with the potential to be one of the stars of the Premier League.
