The Portuguese midfielder could make a major impact for West Ham United tonight.

West Ham United return to Premier League action tonight when they host Crystal Palace, with David Moyes’ side eager to get back to winning ways.
Last weekend West Ham suffered the ignominy of being knocked out of the FA Cup at the fourth round stage by League One side Wigan Athletic.

Moyes’ resources are depleted at present, with the club in the midst of an injury crisis that has left 11 members of the West Ham squad either doubtful or ruled out of tonight’s game at the London Stadium, while Arthur Masuaku is suspended.
With his options limited, Moyes may look to give a first start to Joao Mario following the midfielder’s arrival on loan from Inter Milan.

The Portugal international featured as a substitute against Wigan but there is a possibility that he could be involved from the outset on this occasion as Moyes seeks to ensure that his side play with greater cohesion.
Despite being in 11th place in the Premier League, West Ham are just four points above the relegation zone and know that they can ill afford to have many slip-ups in the remainder of the campaign if they are to stay up.
