The Porto hitman is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United, but West Ham United should enter the race to sign him.
As Hammers boss Slaven Bilic’s search for an established striker continues to frustrate, the Croatian will surely have to be lining up alternative targets to the likes of Olivier Giroud, Cedric Bakambu and Anthony Modeste.
West Ham’s forward line were majorly disappointing as a whole last season, with injuries hampering the performances of the likes of Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and club record signing Andre Ayew.
With this in mind, Bilic should be targeting a powerfully built hitman, with a more durable frame than the Hammers’ current crop of forwards, and an interesting option for them could be Porto’s Vincent Aboubakar.

The Cameroon international has been linked with a move to Newcastle United already this summer, according to Turkish media outlet Futbol Arena.
Aboubakar would be the ideal signing for the east London outfit. Standing over 6ft tall, he is strong in the air, accomplished when holding the ball up with his back to goal, and possesses blistering pace. He is also clinical when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.
He spent the entirety of last season on loan with Turkish side Besiktas, scoring 19 goals in 38 games, showcasing his talents on a consistent basis.
The 25-year-old is notorious for his tireless work-rate, never giving opposition defenders a minutes rest, and that kind of work ethic and commitment could prove to be crucial to West Ham next season, especially on the large pitch at the London Stadium.
He has just one year remaining on his current deal with the Portuguese club, so he shouldn’t prove to be too costly. The one major problem will be Newcastle’s interest, however, and Bilic will have to work hard to convince him into joining the Hammers this summer, over a move to Tyneside.
And if the Croatian does manage to bring the Cameroon international to east London, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for West Ham.
