The Nottingham Forest striker would be a sound addition to the West Ham United squad.
Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to add an accomplished forward to his ranks this summer, but his search has thus far proven to be fruitless.
West Ham struggled in the Premier League last season, with fans and pundits alike blaming the Croatian’s poor 2016 summer recruitment for his side’s lacklustre campaign.
Bilic brought in a while host of foreign imports and free transfers, none of whom hit the heights that were expected of them.
With this in mind, the Hammers should consider replicating one of their few success stories in the transfer market over recent years, but moving for Forest striker Britt Assombalonga, much like they did when they signed Michail Antonio form the Reds in the summer of 2015.
Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga in action
The 24-year-old showcased his talent last season for Forest, scoring 14 goals in 32 Championship outings, only 20 of which were starts.
The former Peterborough United front-man is a constant menace for defenders, what with his tireless work-rate and unrivalled strength.
According to the Mirror, Mark Warburton will only sell Assombalonga if any potential suitors meet his £15 million valuation, which would not be a problem for the east Londoners, who are reportedly lining up a bid of the same amount for Burnley forward Andre Gray.
The Forest man would arguably be a better option than the Clarets striker, however, as Bilic looks to add a more physical edge to his front-line.
And with the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Antonio flanking him, he could reach even higher levels at the London Stadium.
