The West Ham United centre-back has been disappointing of late.

One of the longest-serving players in the West Ham United squad, Winston Reid has produced some excellent performances during his time at the club, but there have been some signs of late that the experienced defender is struggling.
Even though the appointment of David Moyes as manager has helped to improve matters significantly, West Ham still remain somewhat vulnerable at the back and there were concerns about the quality of their defending last night even though they managed to secure a 2-1 victory at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Reid was especially disappointing as he was frequently caught out of position and the New Zealand international, for so long a bastion of consistency at the heart of the West Ham defence, has really struggled of late.
The centre-back has a long contract at the London Stadium and can remain a valuable member of the squad, but now is perhaps the right time to take him out of the limelight and perhaps consider bringing in another centre-back while the transfer window is open.

If West Ham are to preserve their Premier League status then they can ill afford to be vulnerable at the back, and Reid may well have to be one of the individuals that is sacrificed, even if it is only temporarily.
