Slaven Bilic, if he stays at all, needs to spend big to bolster several areas of the pitch, especially the strike department.
Andy Carroll has scored seven goals this season, but he remains perennially injured. Doubts remain over his future, and the club could allow him to leave in the summer.
The likes of Diafra Sakho and Jonathan Calleri hasn’t been impressive either, while young Ashley Fletcher is still not ready to start week in week out.
Michail Antonio, who has played as a right-back and in all the three positions in midfield, has been used as a forward by Bilic. He has been the club’s top scorer with nine goals.
It doesn’t need a second explanation where West Ham need to invest in the summer.

The Hammers should make a move for Boro striker Alvaro Negredo
Experience – Negredo is a highly experienced striker, and having played for two Premier League clubs already, he won’t take much time in settling down.
Good form – The 31-year-old Spanish striker has enjoyed a good campaign for Boro. He has scored 10 goals in all competitions and provided four assists as well. Give him proper delivery, and Negredo more often than not hits the target.
Affordability – Negredo has a contract with Valencia till 2019, but he would love to stay in the Premier League even if Boro get relegated. Valencia would be willing to sell, but given his age and length of contract, he would come at an affordable price.
Versatile – Negredo is a mobile striker who often drops deep in picking up passes. At the same time, he is physically strong and is good at hold up play. He can be used as a lone striker, or as a game changer as per tactical demands.
