West Ham reportedly want Daryl Dike, his cousin has already played for Hammers

West Ham United must sign a striker this summer – it’s an absolute necessity for David Moyes and co after selling Sebastien Haller in January.

The Hammers chose to cash in on Haller without signing a replacement, and that decision hit them when Michail Antonio picked up another injury.

Antonio needs help this summer, and finding a talented, young striker for the future should be a priority.

TEAMtalk reported in March that West Ham fancy signing Daryl Dike, the Orlando City striker who is currently on loan at Barnsley and has been likened to Romelu Lukaku by teammate Jordan Williams.

Dike is valued at around £17million, and has been sensational since joining the Tykes having racked up nine goals in 17 games for the Championship club, firing them into the playoff places.

The American is likely to land a big move this summer, and whilst a host of other clubs are interested in Dike, he does actually have a very interesting link to West Ham.

Dike’s cousin is Emmanuel Emenike, the former Nigeria international striker who turned out for the likes of Spartak Moscow, Fenerbahce and… yep, West Ham.

Emenike joined the Hammers on loan in 2016, scoring twice in 16 appearances under Slaven Bilic before West Ham chose not to make his move permanent.

Dike could now follow in Emenike’s footsteps by playing for West Ham, and he may well ask his cousin a few questions about the club before making a possible move to East London.
