West Ham have provided an update on the expected return dates of Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll, in a feature on the club’s official website.
Head of Medical and Sports Science Stijn Vandenbroucke addressed several of the club’s injured players in the ‘From the Treatment Room’ feature.
Ayew – the club’s record signing – suffered a ‘rare but very serious thigh injury’ in the 2-1 loss to Chelsea on the opening day of the season but the Ghanaian will not undergo surgery and the club are hopeful of his return in December.

Carroll meanwhile, faces another spell on the sidelines, after injuring his knee on a below par playing surface against Astra Giurgiu last week, and Vandenbroucke claims he will be out for 4-6 weeks.
The likes of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini have also been absent in recent weeks, stretching Slaven Bilic’s squad to breaking point.

Despite that, they were unlucky not to leave Stamford Bridge with a point and picked up all three in a hard-fought win over Bournemouth on Sunday.
