Marcus Browne of West Ham and Max Clarke of Hull City challenge for the ball during the Second Leg of the Premier League U21 Cup Final at the KC Stadium on May 04, 2016 in Hull, England.

West Ham youngster Marcus Browne has had an unlucky past 18 months with injuries and might finally be having some good fortune.

Browne, 20, is on loan at Oxford United and scored his first ever senior goal last night in the Carabao Cup.

He scored in a 2-0 win over Coventry City, netting the team’s first goal of the season after a difficult start to the campaign.

Browne’s previous loan spell at Wigan Athletic never got started due to injury, and this one is looking more promising.

The 20-year-old has been regularly impressive for West Ham’s under-23 side, and needed a new challenge.

The attacking midfielder hopes that his performance and goal will help earn a league start, and after Oxford’s poor start to the season, they should strongly consider throwing him in this weekend against Portsmouth.

Oxford had lost their first two league games 4-0 to Barnsley and 2-0 to Fleetwood.
