The West Ham United attackers could leave the club this month.
While West Ham United undoubtedly need to make some signings during this transfer window, much of the focus surrounding the club at present is on players who could potentially depart.
As reported by The Daily Star, West Ham are prepared to sell Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho this month, with neither player part of Moyes’ longterm plans at the club.
However, the report indicates that The Hammers don’t want to sell either player to a Premier League rival.
Ayew has mustered three goals in 16 Premier League appearances this season, while Sakho has scored twice in 14 top flight games.
It seems clear that West Ham cannot rely on the pair to perform consistently, even as substitutes, so it is perhaps for the best if they are allowed to move on.
Both Ayew and Sakho are rather quick, but they lack conviction and decisiveness, with such faults not of particular use in a battle to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
West Ham have other attacking options at their disposal that are of more use – such as Marko Arnautovic, Michail Antonio, Andy Carroll and Javier Hernandez.
Even if they don’t bring in another attacker, the money gained from the sales of Ayew and Sakho, if indeed they do depart, could be reinvested in improving a different area of the team, such as central midfield, where a replacement for new acquisition is certainly required.
