Carlos Sanchez has admitted to Caracol Radio that he ‘wouldn’t say no’ to a return to South America, amid claims that West Ham United boss David Moyes is planning to sell the midfielder this summer.
A man who joined the Hammers in a £4 million deal from Fiorentina two years ago has endured a miserable spell at the London Stadium.
Then again, Sanchez’s struggles should not come as a surprise to anyone who watched a rather sluggish operator flail during that disastrous stint with Aston Villa earlier in his career.
The 88-capped veteran never appeared to have the pace or the technical ability to thrive in English football and, at the age of 34, he now finds himself well down the pecking order at a relegation-threatened West Ham side.
The Telegraph claims that Moyes will actively look to sell a man who has not featured in claret and blue since a 2-1 defeat against Leicester City back in December.
But is Sanchez planning to make an emotional return to his native Colombia? Yes, but not right now.

“I wouldn’t say no, but at the moment we are not thinking of going back to Colombia,” says a man who was painted as a ‘villain’ after being sent off three minutes into his nation’s 2018 World Cup campaign.
“However, you never know.”
West Ham have an option to sign Czech ace Tomas Soucek on a permanent basis at the end of the campaign. Tiemoue Bakayoko, William Carvalho, Nahitan Nandez and more have also been linked with the capital city club, suggesting that Sanchez might have already played his last game in West Ham colours.
He probably won’t be missed.
