West Ham United boss David Moyes has been spotted on a scouting mission over in Portugal.
West Ham have turned a corner under Moyes and reached the 30-point mark with the 2-0 win over Watford last time out.
The Hammers have come a long way given they sat in the relegation zone on just nine points when Moyes was appointed back in November.
While there is still work to do yet to secure survival, Moyes clearly feels confident – not only of staying up but keeping the West Ham job long-term too having been spotted on a scouting mission in Portugal.
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Moyes was spotted at a recent Sporing game prompting reports he is keen to renew interest in star midfielder William Carvalho.
West Ham fans will know all about the Euro 2016 winner after the very public and ill-fated transfer saga which resulted in a huge fallout between the hierarchy of both clubs in the summer.
Sporting claimed West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold never had any intention of meeting the fee set to secure Carvalho’s services.
Moyes is a known admirer of the midfielder, who he was interested in when manager of Manchester United, and his visit to watch Sporting hints he could be ready to make a renewed bid this summer.
If West Ham are serious about finally landing the 25-year-old they will need to shell out around £30 million, which would be a new club record.
Carvalho could be reunited with former Sporting star and Portugal international teammate Joao Mario should the East Londoners elect to splash the cash to make his move from Inter Milan permanent.
