West Ham or Newcastle could now be signing the next Dele Alli after transfer target Alex Scott won a prestigious award.
Both the Hammers and the Magpies – according to Dean Jones – have made contact with Bristol City over a deal to sign the talented midfielder this summer.
It remains to be seen where Scott ends up, although Nigel Pearson has admitted that “every player has a price” in what seems to be an admission that the England Under-20 international could leave Bristol City.
Whatever happens this summer, the 19-year-old has now cemented himself amongst some stellar names.
What’s the story?
Well, Scott was named Championship Young Player of the Year on Sunday after an outstanding campaign for Bristol City.
The Bristol City No.7 has scored one goal and provided five assists in 40 Championship appearances for the Robins this season, which has led to interest from the Premier League.

Previously, the likes of Alli, Wilfried Zaha, Jude Bellingham, Gareth Bale and Michael Olise have won the Championship Young Player of the Year award, so Scott finds himself in strong company.
How much Alex Scott could cost West Ham or Newcastle
When admitting that “every player has a price” – as quoted by Bristol Live – Pearson did also state that it would take “one hell of a bid” to lure Scott away from Ashton Gate.
The 59-year-old said: “Alex Scott for instance as a point of conversation, every player has a price. It will have to be one hell of a bid for him to go. I can assure you that Steve (Lansdown, the Bristol City Majority Shareholder) doesn’t want to sell players for the sake of it. It’s not about that.”
No exact figure was mentioned.
However, in the previous story reported by Jones – said to be a transfer expert – a sum of £25m was claimed to be enough to sign Scott this summer.
That may seem like a lot for a teenager from the Championship, but if Scott continues to develop at this rate, we believe it will prove to be a bargain a few years down the line.
