West Ham United are now seeking more information from RB Leipzig about a transfer
for Timo Werner in January as the German striker is growing ‘disappointed’ in Saxony.
That is according to TEAMtalk, which reports that West Ham are interested in giving Werner a second chance in the Premier League. But the Irons must act carefully in the January sales as the London Stadium outfit can only target low-cost options to improve David Moyes’ side.

A chance to sign Werner during January would appeal to West Ham with RB Leipzig open to his mid-season transfer. The Irons are now seeking further information from the Bundesliga team about what terms they would demand. Moyes will then weigh up targeting any move.
Werner stands out to West Ham as a low-cost target as TEAMtalk notes the 27-year-old has grown ‘disappointed’ in Saxony. He is frustrated with a lack of regular opportunities to show Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann his worth for a spot in their Euro 2024 team next summer.
Werner has scored just two goals in 13 games so far this season
The Chelsea flop currently finds himself as the fourth-choice centre-forward at RB Leipzig to Lois Openda, Benjamin Sesko and Yussuf Poulsen. Coach Marco Rose has only started him in two Bundesliga fixtures from a potential 10, with Werner featuring six times as a substitute.
Werner has used his limited minutes, all 203 of them, to score two goals in the German top-flight this season. He has also failed to improve his goal tally over a further five appearances in cup competitions. The 57-cap international has played a total of 370 minutes in 13 games.
