West Ham United are interested in signing Dele Alli from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window as an alternative to Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to Eurosport.
West Ham interest in Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli
Tottenham have reportedly told Alli’s representatives that they will not stand in his way if he wants to leave in January.
Newcastle United are keen on the 25-year-old, and West Ham are also reportedly watching the situation.
West Ham want to sign Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard in January and are preparing an offer.
The Hammers’ pursuit of Alli will depend on how they progress with Lingard.
Sensible plan from the Hammers
In our view, it is really very sensible of West Ham to consider Alli as an alternative to Lingard.
There is no point in the Hammers putting all of their eggs in one basket.

Now, clearly Lingard would be a better fit for West Ham.
After all, the Manchester United attacking midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at the Hammers and helped the team finish in the Europa League places in the Premier League.
We know how good Alli can be.
The England international is a very good box-to-box midfielder who can score goals and make a huge impact on games.
A loan deal for Alli for West Ham if they are unable to bring in Lingard would make sense for the Hammers.
