West Ham United ace Mark Noble has suggested that Jesse Lingard acts differently now he is back at Manchester United.

The Hammers took on United once again on Wednesday night, having met on Sunday in the Premier League.

This time it was the Carabao Cup, and West Ham ran out 1-0 winners at Old Trafford.

Manuel Lanzini scored the only goal of the game, helping the Hammers claim some revenge from Sunday’s defeat.

Lingard doesn’t enjoy as much success against West Ham this time

The hero for United on Sunday was Jesse Lingard as he fired a stunning winner for the Red Devils.

Lingard came back to haunt his former club having dazzled on loan at West Ham last season.

Lingard didn’t enjoy the same success against West Ham this time.

He actually went down seeking a penalty in a challenge with Mark Noble, but his appeals went ignored.

Noble takes small dig at Lingard

West Ham captain Noble was the source of many jokes on Sunday. He came off the bench to take a last-gasp penalty for West Ham, only for David De Gea to save it.

Noble at least helped West Ham win last night, and he commented on his incident with Lingard.

Noble told Sky Sports (9:57pm) that he actually told Lingard off for screaming and diving.

He added that Lingard never did that kind of thing at West Ham, so it looks to be something that has changed in him since returning to Manchester United – but still wishes Lingard all the best at Old Trafford.

“That’s football, he dived and I told him off for screaming, funnily enough he didn’t really do it at our place but he does it here!” said Noble. “We had a laugh on the pitch today, I love Jesse. He’s a great character and I’m so pleased he’s come here and getting his chance. He’s scored some fantastic goals obviously the one against us was hurtful, he’s a great lad and he deserves everything he gets,” he added.
