Hammers new-boy Edimilson Fernandes risked the wrath of the club’s fans during an exclusive interview with Swiss media outlet Le Nouvellist, by admitting that he would like to move to a bigger club in the near future.
The 20-year-old Switzerland international moved to West Ham in the summer from FC Sion, for a fee believed to be in the region of £5.5 million, but has gone on to make only two Premier League starts for Slaven Bilic’s men.
Fernandes has actually impressed when he has played, and looks like he is one of the better signings made by Bilic throughout the duration of the summer.
The Hammers midfielder sat down for an interview with Le Nouvellist, and shared his ambition to play for a bigger club at some point in his career:
“I know I can do more, go higher, and why not go to a bigger club? It’s only by working hard at West Ham that I’m going to develop.”

West Ham’s dreadful form so far this season obviously has not leant itself to a positive atmosphere running through the setup, with several sounds of discontent emanating from the club of late.
Fernandes’ comments will most certainly not help him endear himself further to the club’s fans though.
He would have been better served just working hard in training and letting his football do the talking.
West Ham head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United tomorrow in the 16:30 kick-off.
