The winger was West Ham United’s marquee signing this summer.
West Ham new-boy Felipe Anderson spoke exclusively to the club’s official website in the aftermath of his side’s heavy defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, and hinted that he will have to work even harder, if he is to adapt to the intensity of the Premier League.
The 25-year-old Brazilian joined the Hammers last month, for a fee that could eventually exceed £42 million, and many fans and pundits are predicting that he will take the Premier League by storm.
Anderson was one of nine new signings made by Manuel Pellegrini, and they must all be given time to adapt to the intensity of the Premier League.
Their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday was not the ideal way to start, but they will not come up against many sides like Jürgen Klopp’s man again between now and the end of the season.
Anderson spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and admitted that he found it hard to adjust tot he speed of the game at Anfield:
“We knew that the [Liverpool] match was going to be very hard, as their attack is really fast and they score a lot of goals, I always wanted to play in the Premier League. It’s a league in which teams like to have the ball and are constantly attacking and thank God now I have the chance to be here, so I’m working hard to adapt as quickly as possible and give my best effort.”
Next up for West Ham is a home game against Bournemouth on Saturday, and Anderson and co will have be looking to get their season started with thee points against Eddie Howe’s men.
