Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Manuel Lanzini.
West Ham United are back in Premier League action this evening as they take on Leicester City at the London Stadium.
The Hammers lost 2-0 at Watford last weekend, as new manager David Moyes fell to defeat in his first game in charge since replacing Slaven Bilic over the international break.
Moyes now faces his first home game as West Ham boss tonight, as Leicester City travel to the London Stadium this evening – and the Hammers need points quickly.
With just nine points from 12 games, West Ham sit in the relegation zone right now, and they need points to not only drag themselves away from trouble, but also to ease any fears over the future of Manuel Lanzini.
The Argentinian playmaker, who has hit 15 goals and four assists in the Premier League since joining from Al Jazira in 2015, has become a fan favourite at West Ham, but his displays have allegedly attracted interest.
The Mirror claim that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Lanzini ahead of a possible 2018 bid, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to add his fellow Argentinian as Spurs eye up additional playmakers to take some pressure off Christian Eriksen.
If West Ham can’t begin to move away from the relegation zone before the January transfer window, Spurs may well try their luck with a bid – and West Ham won’t want another Dimitri Payet situation, where their star player forces a move in the January transfer window.
Lanzini may be happier than Payet was, but picking up form and moving away from the drop zone may just help keep the vultures away from the London Stadium, with the Hammers no doubt hoping they don’t give any encouragement to Spurs.
