The Southampton defender would be a useful addition for West Ham this month.

According to a report from the Independent, Southampton are prepared to listen to offers for Cedric Soares this month, and the Portuguese would be the ideal January addition for West Ham.
Manuel Pellegrini currently has somewhat of an issue in his right-back department, with Ryan Fredericks out with a long-term injury and Pablo Zabaleta set to turn 34 tomorrow.
The Argentine is not able to play every week, and certainly not twice a week, so the addition of another established right-back would be a wise move from the Hammers this month.
Soares is an incredibly solid operator, and at the age of 27, he’s at the perfect age to make a difference for West Ham.
He also has plenty of Premier League experience which is undoubtedly a big bonus when signing a new player.
The 33-capped Portugal international is an attacking full-back in every sense, but he is also a fine defender, and he would provide fantastic competition for Zabaleta.

Soares is quick, strong in the tackle, has fantastic positional awareness, and if he is really available this month, West Ham cannot afford to miss out on bringing the Southampton ace to east London.
He could turn out to be an excellent addition for Pellegrini’s side, and help aid the Hammers’ push for a Europa League spot come the end of the season.
