West Ham wanted Jordi Mboula before he signed with Monaco.

West Ham lost out to Monaco in the race to sign Barcelona youngster Jordi Mboula in 2017.
The Star reported their interest at the time before the Ligue 1 side nipped in to win the race.
Mboula has found it tough to break though since signing for Monaco, struggling to win over former boss Leandro Jardim.
He has started just three of nine league games this season.
Now he has a fresh start under Thierry Henry, who was appointed as coach last week.
Mboula’s situation is very much worth monitoring, as to how he gets on over the next couple of months.

If the 19-year-old cannot convince Thierry Henry he is ready to start regularly, it will be two bosses who feel the same way about him.
This should provide West Ham with some encouragement they can swoop to sign the talented forward for the right price.
Mboula has six goals in 14 games for Spain’s under-19 side and further recognition awaits if he continues his development.
Thierry Henry could unlock his potential, but a slow start under the Frenchman would allow West Ham a second chance.
