West Ham United could be a ‘good option’ for Christian Pulisic if the USA international is allowed to leave Premier League rivals Chelsea this summer.
That is the opinion of Clint Dempsey; the former Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur forward hoping to see his compatriot bring arguably an overdue end to a hit-and-miss spell at Stamford Bridge.
A £57 million signing from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019, there was a time – during the lockdown – when Christian Pulisic looked capable of evolving into the Chelsea’s second coming of Eden Hazard, such was the confidence and the craft flowing through his veins.

Pulisic has not come close to emulating those exhilarating performances over the last two-and-a-half years, however. The USMNT skipper Uscored just once and set up two more goals in 30 games across 2022/23.
West Ham may be an option for Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic
“I think that La Liga would be a good option, and I think there are still teams in the top six where he could get in. Someone top four or top five,” Dempsey tells CBS Golazo of his nation’s very own ‘Captain America’.
“I like that league for him, in the way that he plays and the way he can connect with people. How he can use his speed to create chances.
“And I still think that the Premier League is a good option for him. There are other teams in the top six. I think West Ham could be a good option. There are more options out there.
“The most important thing is you go somewhere where you are going to play, where you like the style and the coach believes in you.”
According to The Athletic, Pulisic is hoping to become the latest in a long line of high-profile departures from Stamford Bridge, following in the footsteps of the Arsenal-bound Kai Havertz and the Manchester United-liked Mason Mount among others.

For now, a move to West Ham is merely hypothetical.
But nor can it be ruled out. The Hammers want a winger and Pulisic could set David Moyes back slightly less than the £40 million Leicester City want for Harvey Barnes.
