West Ham and Tottenham are both chasing Real Betis stars.

West Ham’s reported interest in William Carvalho could have dire consequences for Tottenham’s ongoing pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso.
Estadio Deportivo report the Hammers are keen on a swoop for the Real Betis midfielder, who they have admired since his move at Sporting.
This would throw a big spanner in the works for Tottenham, who are trying to sign his Betis teammate Lo Celso.
BBC Sport report Tottenham had a £53 million bid rejected for the attacker.
Betis are holding out for the £88 million release clause in Lo Celso’s contract, which could just be a negotiating strategy to force Spurs to up their bid.

The £88 million is more than twice Tottenham’s £42 million record spend.
Given that Betis have already resisted selling Lo Celso, deciding to sell Carvalho to West Ham would make Tottenham’s chances even more difficult.
Losing both players would leave Betis with a gigantic hole to fill in midfield, albeit with plenty of cash, but it wouldn’t be ideal.
Certainly it seems if West Ham succeed signing Carvalho, Tottenham’s only chance to sign Lo Celso would be to pay his release clause, and that’s surely too rich for Daniel Levy.
