Controversial striker Diafra Sakho has left West Ham and joined French side Rennes.

West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has wished Diafra Sakho “all the best” on Instagram after the latter completed a move to Ligue 1 outfit Rennes on Monday.
Sakho, 28, has departed after more than three years with West Ham in which he scored 24 goals in 71 games as injury continued to hamper his progress right until the last.

The former Metz striker was in the final few months of his contract but Sky Sports claim the Hammers have still raked in a fee of £8million for the eight-time Senegal international.
Kouyate, also a Senagal international with 40 caps under his belt, wished Sakho the best of luck to Sakho who has eventually ended his West Ham stay, with the versatile forward repeatedly stating his desire to leave east London.

Sakho’s departure leaves David Moyes with even less options in the final third, as Andre Ayew, Michail Antonio, Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll remain sidelined through injury.
It is likely to see Javier Hernandez start up front against Crystal Palace on Tuesday, while new signing Joao Mario and youngster Toni Martinez are in with a shout of featuring.
