Liverpool clinched their sixth European triumph with a 2-0 win in Madrid, and West Ham United were quick to congratulate their Premier League rivals.

West Ham were clearly delighted to see Liverpool lift the Champions League trophy for a sixth time as they sent a message of congratulations to their Premier League rivals on Twitter after the Reds’ 2-0 win in Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp followed in the footsteps of the likes of Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Rafa Benitez by lifting the continent’s number one club trophy as they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Spanish capital.
Mo Salah gave Liverpool a very early lead as the referee awarded a penalty for a Moussa Sissoko handball inside the first 30 seconds. It was a controversial decision, but the Egyptian left Hugo Lloris with no chance as he smashed the ball home.
And just as Spurs were starting to look as though they were getting a little closer to finding an equaliser, Divock Origi produced an outstanding finish from the edge of the box to leave Liverpool with one hand on the trophy.

Of course, given how the semi-finals played out, Klopp would not have been getting carried away until that final whistle went. But Tottenham could not set up a dramatic finish.
And West Ham did not hide the fact that they were pleased to see Liverpool come out on top against one of their London rivals, with the club posting a message of congratulations on Twitter shortly after the full-time whistle.
