Maxwel Cornet is set to join West Ham United after the Hammers agreed a fee with Burnley for his services.
The Hammers have been chasing a versatile left-sided option, preferably a player who can play at wing back and as a winger.
Arthur Masuaku could fill that role when needed, but he has moved on to Besiktas this week.
Filip Kostic emerged as the top target for that specific role, but prying him away from Eintracht Frankfurt has proven difficult.
West Ham have moved on to other targets and now appear to be very close to making a signing.
Maxwel Cornet is set to join West Ham
Reports this week have heavily linked Burnley star Maxwel Cornet with a move to West Ham.
Football London now claim that West Ham have agreed a fee with Burnley for the Ivorian’s signature.
French journalist Fabrice Hawkins has also reported that Cornet has personal agreed terms with West Ham.
It’s also noted that Cornet should be in London today to undergo his medical with West Ham as the deal moves closer and closer.
There has been major competition for Cornet, even just in the last few days alone.

The Daily Mail noted that Newcastle United made an approach to sign Cornet over the weekend, but that hasn’t really gone anywhere.
90Min have added that Leeds United, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also interested in snapping up Cornet.
Yet it’s West Ham who seem to have a deal almost done and dusted, giving Moyes a major addition to the Hammers squad.
Cornet, 25, joined Burnley from Lyon last summer and excelled last season with nine goals in 26 Premier League appearances.
Pep Guardiola has previously shared his admiration of Cornet and West Ham are now in a race against time to try and sign Cornet in time to face Guardiola’s Manchester City this weekend.
