Italian outlet CalcioMercato report that Rafa Benitez is the ‘likely replacement’ for West Ham boss David Moyes at the London Stadium if they choose to sack Moyes – who watched his side suffer another defeat on the weekend, at Wolves.
Remarkably, West Ham have now failed to win a Premier League game since October 24. A 2-0 win over Bournemouth. Since then, they have suffered six defeats in seven Premier League matches – their only point coming against Leeds.
They have picked up wins in that time. A 3-0 win over Steaua Bucharest in the Conference League, and a 1-0 win over Brentford in the FA Cup. But their League form is incredibly worrying and the Hammers have slipped into 18th place.
The Hammers need to make a decision. Either they get behind Moyes, give him the chance to help West Ham escape the mess they find themselves in – or sack Moyes. The Telegraph say Benitez and Nuno Espirito Santo are options.
Now, CM say Benitez is the man most likely to come in if Moyes is sacked. West Ham next face a crucial clash against Everton, Moyes’ old side – and of course, Benitez’s. If they fail to beat the Toffees at the London Stadium, he could go.

Benitez is likely replacement for West Ham boss Moyes
West Ham fans will hardly be encouraged, judging by how Benitez’s last stint went. He won just seven games in 22 appearances as Everton manager – a move that was never going to work. Would he be any better than Moyes?
Ultimately, probably not. Benitez might show a bit more pragmatism, but ultimately, it is the change in manager that might give West Ham a kick start. They need it, things look as though they are not going to improve under Moyes.
Even if it is a short-term fix, it might save the Hammers this season – but ultimately, fail to work in the long run. Moyes has shown at West Ham that he is more than capable, but it might just be that a change is needed to earn a bounce.
